The short version: this site sets no cookies, loads nothing from other servers and uses no analytics. Buying happens at Polar, which has its own privacy policy. Deutsche Fassung.

Visiting the website

The site is a set of static files served by a web server hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Deutschland. When you open a page, the server receives what every browser sends: IP address, date and time, the requested address, the referring page, the browser's user agent, and the response status and size. These access logs are used to run the site and to detect and fix errors and abuse, and are deleted after 7 days. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website).

Fonts, images and scripts are served from this domain. The pages make no requests to third parties when they load.

Cookies and local storage

No cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode with the button in the header, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme so the next page uses it. It never leaves your browser; you can delete it by clearing site data. Without a click, nothing is stored.

Statistics

This site uses no analytics or tracking.

Buying a tool

Purchases are made at Polar, run by Polar Software, Inc. (United States), which acts as Merchant of Record: Polar is the seller, processes the payment and issues the invoice, under its own privacy policy. To deliver the product we receive from Polar what it shares with sellers about an order, such as your name, email address, country, the product and the GitHub account you connect. That account is then invited to a private repository on GitHub (GitHub, Inc., United States), where GitHub's privacy statement applies. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performing the contract). Order data is kept as long as tax and commercial law require.

Email

If you write to us, we use your address and message to answer. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) if it concerns a purchase. Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed, unless the law requires keeping them.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Write to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.

There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
